Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression

Casual man with back pain
If you’ve been sidelined by severe back pain or a bulging or herniated disc, you want effective and lasting relief so you can return to what you love in life. To address these painful conditions, many people are told they’ll need surgery or painkillers, but those approaches can be risky.

At Morris Spine & Sport, we’re pleased to offer a safe alternative: non-surgical spinal decompression. This effective drug-free option can address your pain or disc issue, and you won’t have to go under the knife!

How Does It Work?

You will get harnessed to our computerized table, which will ever so slowly and gently stretch your spine. And then relax. This process opens up the space between spinal bones, creating a type of “respiration” of the fluid that surrounds the joint. The damaged disc receives nourishment and gets rid of cellular waste, enhancing the healing process.

Conditions That May Be Helped

Here are some of the main conditions that this therapy can address:

  • Bulging or herniated disc
  • Degenerated disc
  • Severe arthritis
  • Stenosis

What to Expect

To determine whether decompression is appropriate for you, we will do a complete physical examination and review any recent objective tests (X-ray, CT scan, MRI, etc.).

Dr. Case will go over what’s going on and ask you where your pain is, and find out how it started. Once we determine whether you are an appropriate candidate, she will perform a detailed orthopedic and neurological exam to identify the cause and area of the spine that might be triggering the issue. After Dr. Case has gathered all the information, she will create a customized treatment plan.
