Personal Training in Morristown
Big Bear Strength and Conditioning
Whether you want to shed extra pounds, kick up your cardio or just have more energy, consider personal training at Big Bear Strength and Conditioning, a division of Morris Spine & Sport. It’s no surprise that many people don’t like the idea of working out in a jam-packed gym, where it seems like all eyes are on you and your level of fitness. There’s no intimidation factor here, just encouraging support to help you achieve your goals!
Plans Customized For You
No two clients are alike, so we personalize training sessions to meet each individual’s unique needs. Whether you’re a new mom looking to get back in shape, a runner hoping to compete in an upcoming marathon, or a senior seeking to stay active in your golden years, Jim will customize a plan for you.
Our Personal Trainer
Clinic Director & Certified Personal Trainer After working in corporate America for over 30 years, Jim Harrington has always been passionate about coaching and making a difference in people’s lives. In addition to serving as our Clinic Director, he is now also a Certified Personal Trainer. He achieved certification through the International Sports Sciences Association and is pursuing Master Trainer certification.
Although our space is limited, we pack a lot into it to get our clients in shape. We feature the following, and can also incorporate some yoga into a training regimen:
- PowerPlate pro7
- Soft weighted balls
- Medicine balls
- BOSU ball and balance boards
- Kettlebells
- A stand-alone bench
- Mats
- TheraBand Wall Station (featuring traditional bands and tubes)
Jim is working with a person who is training for their first marathon, and he created a hybrid exercise where the client is on the PowerPlate. “I’m across the room with a medicine ball, and I throw the medicine ball to them. They’re receiving it in front of their body, then doing a squat before launching it back to me,” said Jim. He and the client will do that for one solid minute at a time. The same athlete will also do box jumps non-stop for a minute with a medicine ball. The athlete box jumps onto the PowerPlate platform, which is about a foot off the ground, and then jumps back down.
